1244 N. Clybourn Ave., Chicago, Illinois
This installation features eight 520H Aeroturbines mounted horizontally
to the roof of this 96-unit single-resident housing development. The
building, designed by Murphy/Jahn Architects, is a fine example of building-integrated
wind energy technology. The geometry and orientation of the building
was designed specifically to increase the speed of the wind as it flows
over the roof. Installed in August 2006, the Aeroturbines will begin
generating electricity for the building in early 2007. It will be
our first battery-free installation.
